Follett Internship & Graduate Programs:

Join the Summer Internship Program and collaborate with passionate and diverse teams from Finance, Technology, Merchandise Planning, Retail and more. Our ten to twelve week programs are available in our Westchester, Woodridge and McHenry offices in Illinois. The program also serves as a pipeline for our Management Associate Program in our 1280 retail stores.

Follett interns are offered a dynamic work environment, enabling growth through a wide variety of experiences and responsibilities. Placement and location on specific teams is determined during the hiring process based on experience, skill sets, areas of interest and business need. Interns gain hands-on experience in an area related to their major or area of interest and work alongside full-time employees as a contributing member of the team.

Management Internship Training Program in Retail:

The Follett Management Internship Training Program in Retail is an enterprise-wide program that provides recent college graduates with the opportunity to rotate within various retail stores. Over the course of the program, each team member will work in thriving environments, gain a variety of experiences and skills, and receive on-the-job training in each rotation while taking on responsibility, ownership, and providing value to project teams and groups. In this one year program, you'll rotate to challenging new positions and work on a wide range of real world projects, strengthening your skills.

Merchandise Internship Program:

The Follett Merchandise Internship Program is a yearly program for juniors and seniors in a merchandise planning curriculum who are looking for hands-on experience and on-the-job training. This program will provide professional development opportunities, including an opportunity to join the company upon graduation.

Follett primarily recruits current, full time students who meet the following criteria:

  • Progression toward a bachelor's degree in a related field to the internship
  • Recommended GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Relevant coursework and/or projects
  • Previous internship experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills
  • Established work ethic and ambitions
  • Extensive community service and/or extracurricular activities
  • Process and results orientation
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
