Follett regularly holds seasonal hiring events to find talented new (or future) team members for temporary opportunities. See the schedule for events in your area. None taking place in your area? Check back often for the latest event information. We look forward to meeting you!

After you Apply

There are often dozens of applications for each position, so our recruiter's first review the applications ranked highest by the system based on the responses to the pre-screening questions.

It typically will take up to one to two weeks for the recruiters to select candidates who best match the open position's requirements. If you're selected, you'll be contacted by a recruiter for a phone interview. If your background is a match to an open role, an in-person and/or video interview is scheduled with the hiring team.

If your background is not a match to any open role, we'll invite you to join our talent community to explore future opportunities; as well as invite you to follow us on Facebook and Twitter page.

As a token of our appreciation for visiting with us, Follett provides a "Follett Care Package" which contains resources, tools and job tips. Tips for the Interview Day

There are several things you can do to prepare for an interview, such as bringing a resume and arriving a few minutes early. But if you want to nail your interview, then study these tips on how to make a good impression.

Prepare for the interview.

  • Find out as much as you can about Follett, the location where you want to work, and the duties of jobs you've applied for by researching our website and if possible, talking with people who work at Follett.
  • Read your resume closely to think about your strengths and accomplishments.
  • Write a short opening statement on how you can help Follett deliver premier customer service. Practice it until you feel comfortable saying it without having to read it.
  • Prepare work samples to share with the hiring manager or descriptions of awards you've received.
  • Prepare answers to questions often asked at interviews. Here are links to web articles to help you:
  • Write questions you want to ask the hiring manager at the interview about the company, position, and work environment, work schedule or benefits. If you're interviewing for an hourly position, feel free to ask about the pay rate. If you're interviewing for a salaried position, wait until later to discuss the pay rate.

Make a good impression

  • Dress for success. Wear clothes appropriate to the position.
  • Take your resume and work samples to the interview.
  • Arrive 10 minutes early. Being late may automatically disqualify you from further consideration.
  • Turn off your cell phone as soon as you arrive.
  • Make good eye contact with each person you meet, especially the hiring manager.
  • Thank the hiring manager for the opportunity to interview.
  • Share your opening statement at the appropriate time.
  • Express enthusiasm and stay positive. Never criticize other individuals or other companies.
  • Be aware of your tone of voice and your posture. They give clues about how you feel about yourself and about the hiring manager.
  • Listen carefully to make sure you hear the hiring manager's questions correctly.
  • Speak clearly and concisely. Don't rush your answers.
  • Don't assume you are the best candidate since you don't know who the others are. Just be yourself and give it your best effort.
  • When the hiring manager has finished asking his or her questions, ask if there is time for you to address the questions you have. If there is time, then proceed.
  • End by thanking the hiring manager for taking time to meet, and then ask when a decision will be made and how you will be notified.
  • Follow up the interview with a written thank you note. Restate your interest in the position and why you believe you are a strong candidate who will add value to the company.

Evaluate the opportunity.

After the interview, think about what the hiring manager said and what answers he or she gave to your questions to evaluate if the position is the right fit for you. If you receive a job offer, it will be contingent on whether you can successfully complete a Criminal Background Check and a Drug Screen, and whether you meet other hire eligibility criteria.

Interview Process

  • A Follett representative will contact the most qualified candidates and invite them to an interview. Your interview may be over the phone, video, or in person.
  • We use behavioral-based and technical interviews to get to know you. What makes you passionate? What have you accomplished so far? We believe in two-way dialogue, so prepare to ask us questions as well!
  • Consider using our other social media channels to do more research and prepare for your interview.
  • After your interview, we'll contact you with the results. Follow-up timing can vary on the position. For temporary opportunities, timing can be a day or two; with corporate opportunities the timeframe can range from one to two weeks.

Getting the Job Offer and Joining Follett

  • If selected for a position, a Follett representative will contact you to discuss the terms of your offer and start date. We will also provide documentation containing complete job offer details.
  • Note: We will contact candidates that we interviewed, but did not select, to inform them that we have filled the position. We strongly urge these candidates to continue exploring additional job opportunities on our website and join our talent network to be notified of job opportunities.
  • After you accept our job offer (congratulations!), you'll receive emails welcoming you to Follett. We'll provide you all the information you need to ensure you are ready for your career at Follett.


Once you have accepted the offer electronically, you'll receive additional details about your on-boarding experience, including access to our online portal for new hires. This portal includes links and information to help you get started, and be ready for day one.
