Dec 1, 2015 –
Follett Aspen Instructional Management System (IMS) has been recognized for making a positive difference in education by K12 leaders who named it to District Administration magazine’s “Readers’ Choice Top Products for 2015.”
The winners were compiled from more than 2,100 nominations from the magazine’s readers over the past year. The Readers’ Choice Top Products are available online and in the December issue of District Administration magazine.
Follett Aspen IMS allows educators to search, store and share resources needed to build and manage a meaningful, standards-based curriculum, and provides them the ability to:
- Have fast access to district curriculum maps to aid in lesson planning;
- Build a database of sample lesson plans that can be edited and personalized to fit unique classroom needs;
- Enjoy a task tool that can list student assignments and attach supplementary documents for students to easily access from anywhere;
- Promote contemporary curriculum development with digital group projects, tests, and quizzes that eliminate paper sharing;
- Create class pages that foster teacher-student communication, plus make students aware when assignments are due and when they’ve been graded; and
- Allow parents to see that’s happening within the classroom by browsing daily activities, curriculum and remain up to date with grades.
Aspen IMS also integrates with Follett Aspen Student Information System (SIS).
According to Jim Monti, director of technology for West Warwick (R.I.) Public Schools, Follett Aspen IMS “has unified our district’s ability to house all of our student, staff and curriculum data under one application. Aspen allows us to connect all of our data from student to teacher to curriculum to make the best decisions about the students and employees in our care.”
District Administration’s Readers’ Choice Top Products awards program informs superintendents and other senior school district leaders about products their colleagues around the country are using to help their districts excel in a variety of areas, such as technology, sustainability and curriculum instruction.
